| Welcome to Panem High School, the most excellent secondary school in the country. We have the best teachers, the most lovely sportsmen and the most sexy cheerleaders you ever saw. Feel welcome and don’t hesitate to pay a visit to Panem High!
“O my God, did you see how fat she was?”, a blonde girl whispered through the hallways. Her eyes glared at a girl her age passing by, who clearly heard what was said about her. It hurt, but she showed no sign of being bothered. “I know right! Didn’t she poop out that baby like a year ago?” It was obvious: people were mean. Not that Esmae didn’t know that already – she used to be one of them. Two years ago, she was one of the best cheerleaders here at Panem High and you didn’t became part of the team being nice and friendly. Not that she was a total bitch – in fact she was quite a nice person. She was direct and honest, but never seriously mean on purpose. No one deserved that kind of treatment, right?
School had been hell, ever since she had married her boyfriend Aric, who was in short ‘a football player with brains’. Most people thought it was totally lame, being so young and committing yourself to one person only, even though there was a kid to take into consideration too. Many seemed to think they only married because of the pregnancy, just to cover up the fact they had been ‘sinners’. Yeah right. Like that would work. God surely knew the truth already anyways. And a marriage wouldn’t really help to fix the image people around you created when you became a teen mom either. It’s not like she was the first student ever at Panem High to get a baby, so she knew how judging she herself reacted before. Others seemed to be no different.
At a junction Esmae turned right. From there she started to move faster, away from those horrible bitches. She didn't need to hear all their nasty comments, feeling bad about her body enough already. She had been a cheerleader, so she used to be as thin as a stick. In comparison to that, right now she was a gigantic whale. In general, she still looked pretty good, though. Her legs kept moving faster, as she could feel the tears filling her eyes. She did not want to cry in public. If she learned one thing during her time as a cheerleader, it was that crying in public was one of the best ways to get yourself humiliated. With teary eyes, however, it was hard to see where she was going. She was hoping towards the lavatories, but before she could stop to look around, there was a bang that made her stop involuntarily. O dear. Did she just bump into someone? That, most certainly, was another great way to humiliate yourself. “I’m sorry,” she mumbled. Dear Lord, whom did she run into?
OOC: Because everything was so cliché, I thought why not xD So, if you feel like it, come visit Panem High... What kind of person would your character be? A nerd? A bully? Maybe the boring science teacher? Whatever it is, feel free to join! ^^ (And excuse the fails I made... xD My English is far from perfect xD) |

| Panem High was one of the most excellent school one could find in Panem. Results were remarkably high and the application procedure was immensely tough. However, for some reason, Brian managed to get accepted with a full scholarship. That scholarship was the only reason that Brian was able to go to this school in the first place; money had always been an issue and it was why he only applied later in his school carreer. He had to do a resit of the class he finished on his previous school, because his acquired level was not 'sufficient enough to enroll Panem High'. Knowing that Brian, because of that, was one of the older people of Panem High, he tried to act slightly younger than he actually was. For the sake of fitting in. And although he sometimes felt the friendships that resulted from that were not completely honest, he met some really nice people. And he got invited to most of the parties and almost every weekend he'd be found in one of the local bars in town. He fit in, so it worked, and he could live with it. It was halfway the day, and Brian only had to take two more classes before he could go to the library to study for midterms, that would start in two weeks. His grades were ok, but because of the scholarship, he needed to keep up his GPA. He walked out of his class to get some lunch. He hold his books under his arm while he was trying to find the keys to open his locker. When found, he removed his brown curls from his face. But just when he put the key in his locker, a girl bumped into him. Slightly shocked he looked up, his curls again bouncing into his face. Too late he tried to grab the books that now felt on the floor. [The girl was short, thin, had beautiful long hair and - he had to notice - pregnant. And far in the pregnancy. He knew her from the stories. Last week some friends of his were talking about Esmae - he knew her name - and her early pregnancy. They'd been judgemental, and Brian mostly just overheard the conversation without getting involved too much. But he knew she was a popular gossip topic, and that most people were not too friendly when discussing her. Brian didn't know too much about pregnancies, but Esmae looked like she was ready to pop. He was wondering why she was still on school, and wasn't taking online classes. Brian was quite longer than she was. But although he wasn't familiar with pregnancies and his book-saving-attempt looked quite clumsy, he looked confident and a smile appeared on his face. "I'm sorry," he told her. Although he was standing still and the girl must have overseen him, she seemed to be upset. He wanted to comfort her. But he didn't know what he could say more, so he bended over to grab his books. "Are you ok?" he asked, not quite sure if he should.] ~ Yoo oke ik las het dus verkeerd. Dus dat gedeelte tussen haakjes kan je vergeten en verander ik morgen even. Ik heb er nu geen zin meer in |

| Crystal sighed, while she sat down on the ground. Her books thrown away somewhere close to her and a self-made catapult in her hands, she looked around, trying to see if her friends were already here. Somewhere not far from her thrown-away books lay a crumbled piece of paper, a red ‘F’ was visible in one of the corners of the paper, along with some notes scribbled in the same color. Yep, you’re right, it was an exam and not for the first time Crystal had scored extremely low. Well, it was not her fault, was it? They needed better teachers here, for one, and second the days just lasted way to long. What did they think? That she could focus on biology for more than a quarter? Ridiculous.
Bored and bad-tempered, Crystal took a pebble out of the pockets of her jacket and put it on the catapult. She looked around, searching for one of those arrogant faces to aim at. You’re surprised she wasn’t aiming for a teacher? Well, even though Crystal wasn’t at all afraid of getting a penalty, she didn’t want to gain the attention of teachers, for she had quite some impositions she still needed to hand over – or rather, she still needed to make. However, she knew how to avoid teachers, so that wasn’t much of a problem. Unless they were in front of the class she was about to attend, but in most of these cases she just decided to skip the class.
Anyway, her target finally set, Crystal tightened the elastic of her catapult. She closed one of her eyes to aim even better. Her tongue was visible through her lips, on which a concentrated grimace was to be seen. And then she let go. The small stone flew through the hall, but missed the target. However, according to a very angry “hey!” it probably had hit someone else. Fine. Crystal quickly hid her catapult, so as not to get suspicion and with an angel-like face she looked in the direction of the victim.
OOC: I assume multiple plotlines are okay in this topic? Since it's a school and such? ^^; |
